Thorpe School required a fully refurbished modular classroom block as part of a wider school development plan. The project needed to ensure minimal disruption to the school’s daily activities and maintain a calm, uninterrupted learning environment for students and staff. Time was a critical factor, with the construction needing to fit within a limited schedule to allow for additional external works like resurfacing during the half-term break. Health and safety were also a priority, demanding fewer deliveries and less on-site machinery to reduce hazards and keep the grounds safe. The school needed flexible classroom solutions that could be permanent or temporary, with bespoke layouts including classrooms, cloakrooms, storage, and accessible facilities. Sustainability and budget considerations were important, with options for both new and refurbished modular buildings.

Cotaplan delivered a full turnkey modular solution by building classrooms off-site in a controlled manufacturing facility. This approach significantly reduced on-site construction time to just six weeks, limiting disruption and allowing the school to carry out other external works on schedule. Fewer deliveries and reduced machinery on site helped maintain strict health and safety standards throughout the project. The modular design provided a sustainable, flexible, and cost-effective solution, offering bespoke layouts tailored to the school’s functional and comfort needs. Cotaplan’s experienced project management ensured smooth delivery and compliance with all safety regulations. Both new and refurbished modular classrooms were made available, providing the school with quality options that met budget and long-term use requirements.
