A Flexible, High-Quality Learning Mobile Classroom

Sparsholt College required a new modular classroom that could overcome challenging site conditions, including natural gradients and poor ground stability. They needed the building to integrate seamlessly with the existing campus, complete with new car parks, footpaths, and landscaping. Minimal disruption to teaching schedules was essential, as was ensuring the project stayed on time and within budget. The college also specified a need for a high-quality interior fit-out tailored to modern higher education standards, including bespoke finishes, integrated IT systems, and flexible space planning. Future adaptability—such as the ability to expand or relocate the building—was another key requirement, along with the option to include additional facilities like toilets, store rooms, and cloakrooms to meet evolving needs and accessibility standards.

Bespoke Portable Classroom with Long-Term Value

Cotaplan responded with a full turnkey modular solution, starting with complex earthworks and a specialist foundation design to address the site’s terrain. By manufacturing the building off-site, Cotaplan dramatically reduced on-site disruption and accelerated the overall construction schedule. The modular design ensured long-term flexibility, allowing the building to be easily modified or relocated in future. Inside, Cotaplan delivered a fully customised interior with premium finishes and education-focused details, all developed in close collaboration with Sparsholt’s team. Efficient project management ensured timely, budget-conscious delivery, while the modular approach provided both a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to traditional construction—perfectly aligning with the college’s long-term goals.
